SAVF Huis Silversig went into total limitation on 27 March 2020. This means that no visitors may be received and all staff must wear protective clothing (PPE).
All staff were initially tested negative by the Department of Health for COVID-19.
Strict protocol has been drawn up by the Department of Social Development and Health, as well as the SAVF Management.
All decisions and relaxations of COVID-19 measures must first be approved by these Parties, as announced in the Gazette.
COVID-19 places many demands on our Home, but our first priority is the safety and health of our lovely residents. The following measures have been put in place to protect everyone:
Security services are trained and responsible for access control. They have temperature meters and all visitors' details are recorded on prescribed forms, as determined by the Department.
Residents receive special attention - especially emotional - from the social worker so that they can feel informed and safe throughout.
